Gato Negro is Chilean wine’s bestseller. It is the market leader in more than fifteen countries, having over-delivered at its price point for decades. The brand today sells more than four million cases in seventy countries on five continents. That’s two bottles uncorked every second, or, literally hundreds being shared at any given moment somewhere in the world.

Gato Negro was Viña San Pedro’s first branded wine created in the early 60’s, when bottled wine was fast becoming popular amongst a growing middle-class. Wineries had started to invent names and new bottle styles to make their products closer to the consumer. GatoNegro was born “negro”, whites would follow only many years later in 1975.

Over the years the wine and its packaging have both become much more sophisticated. After several generational upgrades, today’s GatoNegro is a quality wine to share with family and friends—no occasion required. It comes in a range of formats and varietals from Cabernet Sauvignon to summer time rosés.
