May, 2010.- Viña San Pedro had an outstanding performance at the 17th edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, one of the most prestigious wine competitions worldwide, being awarded with three Great Gold Medals.
The wines which were awarded the greatest acknowledgement bestowed by this concourse were, 1865 Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2009 from the Leyda Valley, as well as Castillo de Molina Shiraz 2008 from the Maule Valley and 35°South Reserve Shiraz 2009 from the Rapel and Aconcagua Valleys. These medals also confirm San Pedro’s success with its Shiraz and other varieties grown in cool climate valleys.

The great impression our wines caused in this competition even lead one of its judges, member of the Italian Association of Sommeliers, to send us greetings through our www.sanpedro.cl website’s contact. “I had a tasting of your 1865 Single Vineyard Savignon Blanc 2009 at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, held in Palermo, Italy. I wanted to compliment, good product. Best regards, Vanni Berna”.
Added to this, San Pedro won two Gold Medals with its wines 35°South Wild Fermented Chardonnay 2009 from Curicó Valley, 35°South Reserve Merlot 2009, from the Central Valley, and also, three Silver Medals for Castillo de Molina Sauvignon Blanc 2009, 35°South Wild Ferment Cab.Sauv/Merlot 2009 and 35°South Reserve Carmenere 2009.
This competition’s edition registered 6,964 samples taking part, from which only 2,042 were awarded prizes. In that context, Chile had a notable role given the large amount of medals attained. And within this excellent result, from the ten Chilean wines highlighted with Great Gold Medals, three were awarded to Viña San Pedro.
We are very pleased for this new recognition to our wine’s great quality and consistence.
