CASTILLO DE MOLINA

Castillo de Molina was the first range of Reserva wines from San Pedro and has achieved a prestigious position in Chile, Latin America and Finland. Today, its focus it to reveal the finest specific origin for each variety, through eleven varieties from most diverse Chilean viticultural regions. These include a Carmenère from the Maule valley, a Cabernet Sauvignon from the Cachapoal Andes Valley and an outstanding Sauvignon Blanc from the Elqui Valley. The range is currently comprised of Castillo de Molina Reserva and Castillo de Molina Tributo.

Tasting Notes

  • Cabernet Sauvignon

  • VISUAL: Intense ruby red with violet hues.
  • AROMA: This wine displays an expressive, complex bouquet, full of fresh fruits such as raspberries and cherries and ripe fruits like plums and blackberries, which blend perfectly with the tobacco and vanilla notes produced during barrel aging.
  • PALATE: On the palate, this is a fruity and well-integrated wine, displaying good structure and body, and mature and round tannins, which give way to a long and persistent finish. It can be enjoyed immediately or stored for three to five years.
  • Ideal for accompanying red meat, wild game birds, venison and semi-hard cheeses. Serve at 17 to 18°C.
  • Carmenère

  • VISUAL: It displays a dark violet color.
  • AROMA: The nose is quite expressive and intense, full of black fruit and spices, where blackberries, plums, blueberries and pepper stand out, perfectly combining with subtle notes of vanilla and blond tobacco.
  • PALATE: In the mouth, it is a round wine, with good concentration and volume, ripe fruit, soft tannins, rich acidity and a persistent finish.
  • Ideal to accompany risotto, baked lean meats, game birds and ripe cheeses. To be preferably served at 17ºC.
  • Chardonnay

  • VISUAL: Intense, bright yellow.
  • AROMA: This Chardonnay displays an intense and complex combination of aromas, including notes of fruits like grapefruit and white peach, with gentle hints of hazelnuts stemming from barrel aging.
  • PALATE: On the palate, the wine has excellent body, abundant fruit and freshness. It is creamy and balanced, with very good acidity, highlighting once again fruity notes and hints of vanilla. The finish is intense, complex, and persistent.
  • Ideal for accompanying fatty fish like Pacific salmon and tuna, pasta with cream-based sauces, and goat cheese. Serve at 12°C.
  • Sauvignon Blanc

  • VISUAL:Greenish yellow, almost transparent in color; clean and bright.
  • AROMA: An intense, fruity nose. Enhanced fruit notes, including passion fruit, grapefruit, and citrus fruits. Also present are notes of white peach and subtle notes of asparagus.
  • PALATE: The palate is fresh, fruity, with good body, rich acidity, well-balanced, and a prolonged finish.
  • Shiraz

  • VISUAL: Deep violet in colour.
  • AROMA: Complex, elegant nose of plum, cassis and violets, with subtle notes of vanilla, bacon and chocolate.
  • PALATE: Friendly on the palate, full-bodied with soft, ripe tannins. This wine is fresh with great acidity and a long finish. Can be consumed immediately or aged for between 3 to 5 years.
  • Ideal for accompanying red meat, game and mature cheese. Serve preferably at 17°C.
  • Merlot

  • VISUAL: Intense red ruby color.
  • AROMA: Presents a very fruity and aromatic nose, where mainly red fruits like plums and blackberries stand out, combining with subtle toasted aromas, toffee and vanilla which come from time in French barrels.
  • PALATE: In the mouth, it is a wine of great fruitiness, round and with a good body, with ripe and balanced tannins which grant the wine a long finish. It may be drunk immediately or held for 3 to 4 years.
  • Ideal to accompany Serrano ham, game birds, deer, risotto and ripe and soft cheeses. To be preferably served between 16 and 17ºC.
  • Blend

  • VISUAL: Intense and dark deep violet color.
  • AROMA: Displays an elegant and vigorous nose, marked by black cherries, blueberries and redcurrants, that intermingle with subtle notes of vanilla, spices, cedar and bacon, which harmonize granting complexity to the wine.
  • PALATE: It is a very juicy wine, full of black fruit, with present and harmonious tannins, great volume and a lengthy finish.
  • Ideal to accompany red meats, wild boar, deer and ripe cheeses. To be preferably served between 17°C y 18°C.
  • Malbec

  • VISUAL: Intense ruby red with violet tones.
  • AROMA: expressive and complex nose, mainly marked by red fruit, like plums and cherries, with some flowery touches of violets, all of which are very well integrated with the notes of vanilla that come from barrel aging.
  • PALATE: Sensation in the mouth is that of a fruity wine with soft and ripe tannins, which is well balanced and with a long and persistent finish. May be drunk immediately or held for 3 to 5 years.
  • Ideal to accompany game meat, pasta and semi-ripe cheeses. To be preferably served between 17 and 18ºC.
  • Pinot Noir

  • VISUAL: Brilliant and low-intensity ruby red
  • AROMA: Small red fruits, like cherries and raspberries, stand out, along with notes of vanilla and caramel as a result of barrel-aging.
  • PALATE: It is a fresh and fruity wine, with smooth, harmonious, and delicate tannins and a lasting finish. Drink immediately or age for three to four years.
  • Ideal for accompanying game birds, pastas, and soft cheeses. Serve preferably between 14°C and 15°C.
  • Riesling

  • VISUAL: Clean and bright pale yellow.
  • AROMA: Offers a nose which is both fresh and perfumed, full of fruity and citrus aromas, among which, notes of grapefruit, lime, apple and pear stand out.
  • PALATE: In the mouth it is fresh, fruity and well-balanced, with a good acidity and oiliness, great middle palate, and a mineral, persistent finish.
  • Ideal to be drunk as an aperitif, and with fish and seafood. Serve cold, preferably at 11 to 12ºC.
  • Sauvignon Blanc Elqui

  • VISUAL: DPale yellow color with subtle green hues, transparent, clean, and bright.
  • AROMA: Marked by freshness and intensity, with notes of passion fruit, citrus fruits such as grapefruit, and other citrus fruit zests, together with hints of green chili pepper and gunpowder.
  • PALATE: This is a vibrant wine with rich acidity. Fresh, fruity, and strongly mineral, this wine stands out for its identity and freshness. It possesses a robust body, which gives way to a long and persistent finish.
  • Ideal for drinking as an aperitif and for accompanying fish and shellfish. Serve cold, preferably between 9°C and 11°C.
  • Sauvignon Blanc Fumé

  • VISUAL: De color amarillo verdoso casi transparente, limpio y brillante.
  • AROMA: Presenta una nariz frutal y muy intensa. Destacan las notas a frutas cómo fruto de la pasión, pomelo, frutas cítricas. También presenta algunas notas de durazno blanco y sutiles notas a espárrago.
  • PALATE: En boca es fresco, frutal, con muy buen volumen, rica acidez, equilibrado y de prolongado final.
  • Ideal para beberse como aperitivo, y con pescados y mariscos. Sírvase frío, preferentemente entre 10 y 12°C.
